The Hunger Games Movie: My Thoughts.

Okay, so I went to see The Hunger Games today. I'm a huge fan of the books and have been waiting forever for this movie to come out! Since I loved the books so much, I already has such high expectations for the movie. ...The movie turned out to be a lot better then I expected! They stuck to the book perfectly.

The cast was brilliant.

Josh Hutcherson was perfect for Peeta, they couldn't have cast a better guy.

Prim was captured beautifully. Her screaming actually gave me goose-bumps and any time Katniss and Prim were on screen together, I felt the atmosphere in the cinema. They worked wonderfully together.

Cinna - I loved Cinna. They did really well. The detail that went into his look was great - everything down to his gold eyeliner.

Isabelle was the perfect Clove.

I was a little iffy when I first saw Haymitch on promotional pictures but he really was portrayed well in the movie.

However, there were some things I didn't like about the movie....

First thing I want to mention was the love triangle already forming. I can’t help but feel like the producers made Gale and Katniss seem like more than good friends, in an attempt to get more people watching. It’ll only produce annoying fans who only care about the love triangle. Even when I was in the theater there were people yelling "Team Peeta!" "Team Gale!" and I hate fans like that who don't focus on what the series is actually about.

I’m a little disappointed with the cave scenes. I feel that they were too empty and rushed. In the book Katniss and Peeta had long conversations and it felt a lot more meaningful. In the movie Katniss just kept shushing Peeta whenever he tried to start a conversation. The kiss was also way too rushed, not to mention they showed Gale staring at the screen whenever they were kissing, which just sucks the fans into the love triangle even more.

Peeta didn't loose his leg, I feel that was a big detail from the book they left out. ...I mean, loosing your leg is kind of a big deal.

I don’t like the fact Madge was cut out. I think she played quite a big part in this - from her giving Katniss the pin, to Katniss finally realizing (in later books) that Madge is someone who considers her as a friend.

Last point, also on Katniss & Peeta. The moment they share at the end of the book, when Katniss admits that her love in the arena was for the camera’s was something that grabbed me into the triology. Peeta’s feelings were shattered and they didn’t include it. I was really annoyed with this.

Other then the those things, I thought the movie was fantastic.
